Unique features of the Women's Large Jewelry Boxes in Birdseye Maple by Russ Pool
  • The joints of the jewelry boxes are mitered, strengthened, and accented with 4 pairs of splines made from a curly cherry. We use a combination of traditional joinery and modern adhesives that will make this handmade jewelry box last several generations for sure.
  • Solid-wood, floating, book-matched tops are chosen for extraordinary grain-pattern and held in place with a pair of visible brass pins.  These are one of the few jewelry boxes made with solid wood tops.
  • The sides of the jewelry boxes are made from a single board that has been cut, numbered, and re-joined in assembly to create a beautiful grain-wrap pattern at the corners.  Zoom into the "Detail" image above and see how the grain lines meet at the corner.
  • Dividers are removable for easy cleaning or to create a more open space in the jewelry boxes.
  • Necklace Pouch inserts have 8 hooks, each capable of holding several thin chains. The Pouches keep your necklaces from tangling with other jewelry when the top is closed.
  • Each regular tray in the Large Jewelry Boxes has two ring holders, each capable of cradling 4-6 rings. The center of tray holds a watch, bracelet, or special necklace.
  • Each ring/earring tray in the Large Jewelry Boxes has seven ring holders, each capable of holding 4-6 rings or 3 pair of small earrings.
  • Each jewelry box can comfortably hold one second sliding tray.
  • See What Makes an Exceptional Jewelry Box for explanation of why we are called the “fanatics” in jewelry boxes.
  • Individually signed and dated by Russ on the bottom of each jewelry box.
